Obverse: III2-1.
  • Date set at the Normal left position.
  • Minor doubling at the top of the cap and at Liberty's profile.
  • Horizontal lines inside Liberty's ear.
  • Collar clash on rim with reeding indents at outside edge of rim from 12-1 o'clock.
  • Die chips at Liberty's lips and upper lip.
  • Die chips in the bear claw void.
Reverse: C4j.
  • Aggressive polish lines at the wreath bow, tail feathers and scribble zone.
  • Three rows of denticle impressions of outside of denticles at the olive branch end tip, below the tip and between the wreath leaves.
  • A of DOLLAR strongly doubled on left side.
  • Die marker - Diagonal polishing lines in wreath bow with single vertical polishing line in middle.
Comments: VAM-17A may be found with or without the collar clash on the obverse die. All regional pics are of coin #1. Coin #2 is an additional copy.
