OBVERSE ATTRIBUTES: This is a clashed Variety with an incused n in the first word of the Reverse Motto, In God We Trust, showing at Liberty's Neck Line. Markers: None

REVERSE ATTRIBUTES: None. Markers: None

COMMENTS ON THIS COIN:

• This coin has all of the attributes associated with the VAM-1B. While this coin appears to be a VAM-1B, my Page Heading notes this as a Variety Not Certified (VNC) as it has not been certified by the PCGS, NGC, or ANACS. However, it has been confirmed as a VAM-1B by the VSS.
• This is a double clashed specimen of the VAM-1B. Both Obverse clash lines exit the joint between Liberty's Jaw and Neck and runs into the field. The Obverse clash line was caused by the clashing of the Eagle's Right Wing.
• The clash event has left its marks on Liberty's Nose to Chin area, as well as at the bottom back part of the Phrygian Cap. The clash marks at Liberty's Nose to Chin area were caused by the clashing of the top inward leaf edges of Left Laurel Wreath Cluster #2. The clash marks seen at the back bottom part of the Phrygian Cap were caused by the clashing of inward leaf edges of Right Laurel Wreath Cluster #1. While the clashing at the Phrygian Cap is not well developed, evidence of a double clash event is seen.
• The clashed nature of this coin is less pronounced on the Reverse; however, it does appear to show as that this specimen experienced two clash events. Two Reverse clash lines are seen exiting the Eagle's Right Wing heading upward to the n in the first word of the Reverse Motto. The Reverse clash line was caused by the clashing of Liberty's Neck Line. In addition, both Right Wreath Cluster #1 and Left Wreath Clusters #1 and #2 show the effects of a double clash event. The clash marks seen on Left Laurel Wreath Clusters #1 and #2 were created by the clashing of Liberty's Lips and Chin. The The Bat-Wing feature seen between the Eagle's Left Wing and Right Laurel Wreath Cluster #1 was produced by the clashing of the bottom third portion of the Phrygian Cap (Cap Vee area).
